Swim Lesson Sessions

Swimmers will only be allowed to start lessons if they have paid.  Classes must have four children registered per class in order to be held. 

Session 1: June 3rd - June 13th

10:00 – 10:30a.................Level 2, Level 3

10:35 – 11:05a.................Level 1, Level 2

11:10 – 11:40a.................Level 1

11:10 – 11:55a.................Level 4

4:55 – 5:25p.....................Level 2

5:30 – 6:00p.....................Level 3

Session 2: June 17th - June 27th

10:35 – 11:05a.................Level 2, Level 3

Session 3: July 1st - July 11th

Lesson Fees

$50 (per child per class)

Level 1 -
Introduction to Swimming

Prior to enrolling, child should be comfortable blowing bubbles and laying on their back with support of an adult.  This is generally around 3-4 years old.  Expect 4-5 children per class.

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Swim with support of the instructor

  • Learn to submerge whole head

  • Combined arm and leg motions on front side and back side

  • Floating on front and back with support

  • Gain comfort with full body immersion

  • Enter shallow water independently

Level 2 -
Steps Towards Independence 

Expect 4-5 children per class.

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Move from stomach to back with support and back to stomach with support

  • Swim independently for 10 yards

  • Fundamentals of treading water introduced and practiced

  • Jump into water from edge and submerge

  • Retrieve object from shallow end floor

  • Move from stomach to back with support and back to stomach with support

  • Swim independently for 10 yards

  • Fundamentals of treading water introduced and practiced

  • Jump into water from edge and submerge

  • Retrieve object from shallow end floor*

Level 3 -
Independent Swimmers

Expect 4-5 children per class.

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Basics of diving

  • Swim front crawl and back crawl independently

  • Dolphin kick introduced and practiced

  • Survival float techniques taught

  • Side to side breathing

  • Proper treading water independently for 30 seconds

  • Breaststroke arms taught

  • Sitting dive taught

Level 4 -
Endurance

Expect 6-7 children per class

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Swim length of the pool (25 yards) independently, both front crawl & back crawl

  • Tread water for one minute

  • Glide from wall in prone position

  • Glide from wall on back with flutter kick

  • Retrieve object from floor of deep end

  • Fundamentals of butterfly and breaststroke taught and practiced

  • Introduction to open turns

  • Standing dive taught

Level 5 -
Well Rounded Swimmer

Expect 6-7 children per class

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Master technique of all four strokes

  • Build endurance with goal to swim 25 yards of each stroke

  • Proper diving technique

  • Fundamentals of flip turn

  • Basics of surface diving

Level 6 -
Swim Team

Expect 6-7 children per class

Emphasis will be placed on learning the following skills:

  • Level six is an alternative to swim team

  • Complete swim workouts similar to what they might expect from a swim team

  • Focus placed on perfecting technique and swimming for speed

  • Surface diving to pool floor
